HUAGE installation coordination: connecting floor proposals with site conditions

Floor installation coordination requires confirmation of the product, subfloor, laying method and boundary details. The original HUAGE materials list four installation methods and include moisture control, opening and trial-laying, and staged inspections in installation discussions.

Flooring installation on China projects must coordinate with the overall refurbishment programme and other trades. HUAGE discusses products, subfloors, moisture control, trial-laying and edges. Confirm the described service areas and actual arrangements for each project.

Base the installation proposal on the actual product

The original catalogue lists timber-batten, floating, full-spread glue-down and adhesive-bead installation, explaining applicable directions for the respective constructions. These differ from layout patterns such as herringbone, chevron or straight installation. After choosing colour and pattern, check board construction, joints, subfloor and environment to confirm the actual system rather than treating a preferred pattern as an installation proposal.

A general construction description cannot replace specific product information. For example, the top layer, total thickness and board format of multi-ply engineered flooring must match the selected design, while adhesives, primers and underlays must suit the system. Identify underfloor heating, areas beside wet zones or extensive continuous installations before work begins, and obtain suitability and detail confirmation separately.

Check the subfloor first, then adjoining finished levels

HUAGE guidance lists soundness, flatness, dryness, cracking, softness and dusting as site checks. Define who tests, the method, who carries out remedial work and whether the next stage may start. Turn general requirements into a proposal for the specific subfloor rather than replace verifiable information with ‘site treated’.

Threshold, tile, wall and cabinetry levels also affect laying and edges. Construction and accessories determine build-up height; walls and intermediate joints need movement allowances. Show these in details, plans or sections early so trades coordinate rather than choose connections after flooring arrives.

Clearance, moisture control and service information have separate responsibilities

The original pre-installation guide asks the client to clear the site, mark water and electrical services in flooring areas, and have the project manager designate an offcut location. Discuss these concrete coordination tasks before site entry. Review storage, working routes and other trades' progress too, ensuring suitable conditions when materials and people arrive.

Moisture control depends on the area. The catalogue highlights balconies, areas adjoining kitchens and bathrooms, thresholds and basements. The actual installation proposal should specify materials, connections with existing waterproofing and checks after treatment. Flooring moisture-resistance promotion does not permit omitting subfloor or boundary treatment.

Keep a shared reference from opening and trial-laying through staged approval

Before installation, the catalogue requires opening several boxes and trial-laying to adjust colour and visual transitions, with user approval before fixing. Compare the signed sample and inspect board distribution along principal views, doorways and edges. Agree representatives and records in advance so site decisions have a defined reference rather than each participant's recollection.

During installation, check bonding, looseness, alignment, noise and edges as agreed. Actual adhesive systems and site conditions govern open and cure times; source timing examples are not universal handover guarantees. Include site approval and care guidance in final handover to connect use with installation records.

Before site entry on China projects, review installation proposals, subfloor inspections and sample records together and appoint an approval representative. Locations, charges, programmes and responsibilities follow project documents rather than a generic introduction replacing site briefings.
